As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, delivering tailored support to individual students or small groups, and contributing to the overall classroom environment. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, including those with special educational needs.
- Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
- Prepare and maintain classroom resources and materials.
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch and break times.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in a classroom setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
