Our Fortune 500 client is a trusted industry-leading global supplier of large innovative electromechanical equipment and services. On their behalf, we have been retained to find a seasoned, talented Director of Logistics, Warehouse Operations to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

· THE ROLE
This is a newly created role as a result of growth in the business, with a need to strengthen the leadership and strategic foundation further with the addition of an experienced Director.
In this role, you will:
--Be responsible for the Warehouse Performance & Delivery. (3 major work sites).
--Guide our client's third-party operators by requiring accountability for operational performance KPI’s, resource planning, employee engagement and talent development.
--Have direct responsibility for a site-specific team that will drive customer service requirements.
--Utilize your continuous improvement mindset using analytical tools to define goals.
--Analyze and monitor the performance of your organization and partner 3PL’s.
--Utilize your exceptional operational leadership and people leadership skills to emphasize customer focus, innovation and planning.
--Use your excellent communication skills and ability to articulate a vision to the third-party operations team to inspire performance.
Using your extensive project management and data focus skills and background, you and your team will be responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations to include, but not limited to receiving, inventory control, selecting, loading, safety and security. You and your team will coordinate operations with third party loading services and ensure customer support through accurate on-time shipments. Your team will have full responsibility to plan, organize, lead, and direct the activities of warehouse teammates. You will foster a positive work environment that promotes teammate involvement and ownership.
In this role, you will:
· Be the primary contact for warehouse related activities.
· Drive warehouse systems and programs that enhance internal customers user experience.
· Evaluate opportunities providing clear cost savings and service improvements.
· Implementation of new programs focused on cost and service opportunities.
· Develop automation proposals to drive space utilization, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
· Guides warehouse audits to evaluate compliance levels and effectiveness of procedures, policies, controls.
· Participates in new business continuity plan groups, identifying operational requirements early in the planning process.
· Develop partnership with demand planning, supply chain, transportation, and trade operations teams for operational flow.
· Continuously improving logistics and warehouse operational requirements.

-Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree or above in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Statistics/Analytics, or other business-related discipline preferred.
-15 years’ experience in Distribution, Logistics, and transportation, preferably within large electromechanical systems companies (machinery, capital equipment, large medical device, etc.).
-Use of Transportation Management Systems Experience preferred.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Possess strong leadership skills including Team Facilitation, Training, and Motivation.
-Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with scalable and repeatable results.
-Experience with implementing efficiency improvements.
-Third Party or equivalent sites operation is required.
-Proven understanding of statistics and strong analytic skills.
-Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles and standard project management processes.
-Intuitive ability to recognize innovative opportunities.
-Excellent communication skills; written and verbal communication skills.
-Interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of the organization.
-Demonstrated track record of working a in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team where success depends on the contributions of everyone.
-High degree of comfort performing in an ambiguous, fast-paced, but highly rewarding and stimulating environment.
-Academic focus in supply chain, business, engineering/computer sciences or other business-related discipline preferred.
-ASCM/APICS certification preferred.
