We are seeking a motivated Engineer to be a key player in the on-going development of a portable ion trap mass spectrometer. This is a ground floor opportunity to assist a company with tremendous growth potential.
· In this role, you will:
--Report to the Director of Engineering.
--Work a combination of remote and in-office (Austin).
--Design, build, and test embedded software and systems for commercial and government products.
--Develop and manage software and system requirements and design documentation.
--Produce project technical documentation required to meet internal and/or customer requirements.
--Support all aspects of prototype debug, testing and demonstration.
--Support of product pre-production documentation and delivery.
--Assist in transitioning products to recurring production environment.
--Be based in Austin (possible remote with some travel to Austin) which is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live for its quality of life, business environment, restaurants, real estate market, live music, weather, etc.

--You are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to operate under a tight schedule.
-- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, with at least 5 years professional experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
--Experience developing code and programming microcontrollers.
--Experience with NXP ARM Microcontrollers preferred.
--Experience with Xilinx FPGAs is a plus.
--Hands on experience with C++ and C.
--Experience with source and build management tools such as Jenkins, Git, SVN.
--Design experience in a secondary discipline such as analog or digital design, signal processing, DSP development utilizing Altium is a plus.
--TCP/IP, UDP, Serial, and/or GPIO experience is a plus.
--Able to deliver projects on time.
--A motivated self-starter that is able to assume responsibility for tasks with minimal supervision or direction.
--Willing to learn concepts and principles from multiple disciplines (chemistry, electronics and software).
--Motivated to work as part of a team.
--Able to solve design problems independently.
--Willing to think ‘outside the box’ and able to assume tasks, projects, and duties outside of their ‘comfort zone’.
