We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Manager. As a leader in our client's New Product Introduction/Pilot Operations organization, this critical position requires a passionate, driven purchasing leader who will deliver strategic direction to the organization’s purchasing function, ensuring the company is positioned to be a winner in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive industry.
--In this role, you will guide, inform, and direct the leadership team and next level leaders on the team, while identifying and driving efficiency improvements.
--You will use your experience to directly manage people and develop talent.
--You will identify solutions to problems and drive to closure while meeting/exceeding goals.
--You will optimize purchasing costs in an engineering environment, while influencing peers and management.
--You will report directly to the Senior Director of Pilot Materials (includes Purchasing and quick-turn supply chain).
--This team has about 60 total headcount made up of buyers, expeditors, and supervisors. These are located in SF Bay Area, Oregon, and India.
--You will have 6-10 direct reports (supervisors and a few individual contributor buyers and expeditors).
!In this role, your specific duties will be:
--Manage, coach, and develop a broad team of buyers, expeditors, and supervisors in multiple locations in a fast-
paced NPI environment.
--Ensure material supply of new design parts meet Pilot build requirements.
--Achieve SLA’s for fast paced RPM program to meet aggressive requirements for both engineering and Pilot
schedules.
--Course correct staff processes when they deviate from achieving key SLA’s Evaluate accurate headcount to support current and forecasted volumes.
--Champion changes that drive greater efficiency and effectiveness in meeting internal customer needs.
--Work cross-functionally to establish R&R for purchasing related tasks.
--Drive cross-functional teams to solve process issues impacting Pilot performance.
--Work upstream with engineers and program managers as well as downstream with the warehouse, logistics and manufacturing floor to ensure customers’ deadlines and needs are met.

--At least 2 years of experience managing a team of direct reports and have 5+ years of supply chain and/or
purchasing experience.
--BA,BS/BSE level degree in business, supply chain, engineering, materials science, logistics or related technical discipline
-- Experience managing, coaching, and developing a broad team of buyers, expeditors, and supervisors in multiple locations in a fast-paced NPI environment. Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, operations management, preferably in large complex electromechanical systems, semiconductor capital equipment, high-tech.
--Worked upstream with engineers and program managers as well as downstream with the warehouse, logistics and manufacturing floor to ensure customers’ deadlines and needs were met, ensuring material supply of new design parts have met build requirements.
--Additional required skills include leadership skills, strategic thinking, attention to detail for everyday tactical execution, and excellent people and presentation skills.
--Project Management / Team Lead experience Lean six sigma experience --Certification in Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
