We are searching for an experienced Director of Community Engagement with excellent leadership and communication skills. The Director of Community Engagement will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to engage with local communities, building relationships with external partners, and representing the organization in public forums. You should be proactive, organized, and able to inspire both internal teams and community members to actively participate in the organization's initiatives.
To be successful as a Director of Community Engagement, you should have experience in community outreach, strategic planning, and event management. You should be well-versed in building strong relationships with various stakeholders, including local organizations, schools, businesses, and residents. A great Director of Community Engagement should have strong public speaking skills, be able to lead community events and workshops, and ensure that engagement efforts align with the organization’s overall mission and goals.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Community Engagement, or a related field (preferably a Master’s degree).
* 3-5 years of experience in community outreach or engagement.
* Previous experience in public relations, sales, or marketing is also acceptable.
* Sound knowledge of the community sector and its dynamics.
* Experience managing a team and leading community initiatives.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, stakeholders, and community members.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute community engagement strategies to build positive relationships with local organizations, residents, and stakeholders.
* Organize and oversee community events, workshops, and forums to foster engagement and strengthen organizational presence in the community.
* Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement efforts with the organization's mission and goals.
* Act as the primary liaison between the organization and the community, addressing concerns, gathering feedback, and ensuring ongoing communication.
* Lead, motivate, and manage a team of community engagement professionals to ensure the successful execution of community initiatives.
* Monitor and evaluate community engagement activities to measure their impact and make adjustments as needed to meet objectives.
* Represent the organization in public forums, advocating for community needs and promoting the organization’s initiatives.
* Build strategic partnerships with local businesses, schools, and other organizations to enhance community outreach efforts.
