We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Package/Mail Screener to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing mail and packages are properly inspected, sorted, and delivered. This role is crucial for maintaining the security and efficiency of our mailroom operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and Screen Packages/Mail: Utilize screening equipment and protocols to inspect all incoming and outgoing mail and packages for prohibited items.
- Sort and Distribute Mail: Sort and organize mail and packages according to department and recipient, ensuring timely delivery.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all screened items, including details on sender, recipient, and any irregularities.
- Safety and Security: Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure the integrity of the mailroom and compliance with company policies.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to employees and external clients when handling inquiries and delivering packages.
- Coordination: Work with other departments and external couriers to manage incoming and outgoing deliveries efficiently.
- Report Issues: Identify and report any suspicious items or security breaches to the appropriate authorities immediately.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a mailroom or package screening role preferred.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate mail screening equipment and basic computer skills for record-keeping.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
