The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping process. This includes preparing, packaging, and labeling items for shipment, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate records of all outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package items for shipment, ensuring all products are secure and meet shipping requirements.
- Create and print shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with carriers, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight companies.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments and inventory.
- Assist with receiving and processing incoming shipments when necessary.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding order status and any shipping-related issues.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and tools (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
