We are seeking a Consultant/Analyst with 1-3 years of experience in the power sector to join our team. The ideal candidate will also have 1-2 years of experience in power sector modelling, preferably with Plexos, though experience with other power sector dispatch models will be considered. The candidate should possess a basic understanding of power sector fundamentals and have a background in engineering or economics. Familiarity with national plans and strategies will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain power sector models.
- Conduct analysis with results from power dispatch models to provide key insights for the client.
- Contribute to the development of decarbonisation plans, plans to integrate renewables and storage to the grid, power sector development plans and strategies for the power sector.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on modelling results and findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in the power sector.
- Basic understanding of power sector fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience using Plexosor similar power sector dispatchmodelling software will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with developing power sector development plans and strategies in the power sector will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with GIS for mapping resources (eg Solar, Wind, etc) or experience using network load flow models will be considered an advantage.
