Position Overview: As an Analyst at ECA, you will engage in a diverse array of activities, including quantitative economic and financial modelling, staying at the forefront of infrastructure economics research, and actively contributing to our business development efforts. Our flat hierarchical structure ensures close collaboration with senior experts, providing you with rapid skill development in infrastructure and regulatory economics. We encourage Analysts to explore a wide range of topics, sectors, and geographic regions, allowing for specialisation later in their careers.

- Crafting a net-zero power generation strategy in Southeast Asia.
- Develop transmission connection and use-of-system tariffs for electricity in Greece.
- Design energy efficiency policy to meet Climate Action Plan targets in Ireland.
- Assisting donors and development agencies in rolling out financing mechanisms to accelerate energy access to remote communities in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Supporting electricity sector reform and market design in Central Asia.
- Advising a utility company on the business case for storage investments in Southern Europe.
- Designing carbon pricing options in the West Balkans for international finance institutions.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree related to economics, engineering, finance, or energy (MSc or PhD preferred)
- Excellent written English with good report writing and presentation skills.
- Strong numeracy skills, coupled with good modelling skills.
- A deep interest in policy and regulatory issues within the energy sector.

ECA’s recruitment process consists of three stages. First, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute remote interview with one of our consultants, scheduled for early December. Successful candidates will then proceed to an in-person assessment at one of our offices, which will include an interview, a 45-minute Excel test, and a 30-minute written test. The last stage involves a final interview with one of our Executive Directors.
