Role Overview
A leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled consultant cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Electrophysiology. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex arrhythmias, performing advanced electrophysiological procedures, and contributing to the development of a high-performing cardiac rhythm management program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and management of patients with arrhythmias, syncope, and conduction disorders
- Perform advanced electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations, and device implantations (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs)
- Interpret ECGs, Holter monitors, event recorders, and other rhythm diagnostics
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and imaging specialists in multidisciplinary care
- Participate in electrophysiology lab development, quality assurance, and technology upgrades
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to continuing medical education
- Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and international clinical standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology
- Subspecialty fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Board-certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience, including consultant-level practice in electrophysiology
- Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi)
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with advanced mapping systems (e.g., CARTO, EnSite)
- Skilled in managing atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and complex device therapies
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Interest in clinical research, innovation, or EP program development
