Role Overview
 

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Critical Care Medicine with expertise in liver and/or kidney transplantation. The role involves leading ICU care for transplant patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ICU team in managing critically ill transplant patients, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative care
  • Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, and anesthetists to optimize patient outcomes
  • Perform advanced procedures such as invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and hemodynamic support
  • Ensure compliance with international best practices and DHA regulations
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs for junior staff
  • Provide on-call support and consultations across critical care areas including ER and transplant units

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Critical Care or Internal Medicine
  • Fellowship or subspecialty training in Transplant ICU / Critical Care Medicine
  • Board-certified (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in transplant-related ICU care
  • Valid license or eligibility for DHA Consultant classification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus
