We are seeking an experienced consultant in pediatric palliative care to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi.
The ideal candidate will bring a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to supporting children with life-limiting illnesses and contribute to the advancement of pediatric palliative services in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive palliative care to pediatric patients, including pain and symptom management, psychosocial support, and end-of-life care.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate individualized care plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with other specialties (e.g., oncology, neurology, intensive care) to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide consultations across inpatient, outpatient, and home care settings.
- Support family-centered care through effective communication, counseling, and shared decision-making.
- Participate in on-call duties as per the departmental rota.
- Contribute to departmental audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement projects.
- Assist in recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with hospital policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialty training in pediatrics and subspecialty certification in palliative care.
- Valid HAAD/DHA/MOH license or eligibility for licensure in the UAE.
- Minimum 5–7 years of post-specialization experience in pediatric palliative care.
- Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
