Role Overview
A senior surgical oncology consultant responsible for delivering advanced cancer surgery services within a leading tertiary hospital in Dubai. The role focuses on comprehensive oncologic care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and contributing to the growth of a modern, evidence‑based cancer program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert management of solid organ malignancies, including breast, GI, hepatobiliary, endocrine, soft‑tissue, and other complex oncologic conditions.
- Perform advanced oncologic surgeries using modern open, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive techniques.
- Lead multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and supportive care teams.
- Oversee pre‑operative evaluation, surgical planning, intraoperative decision‑making, and post‑operative follow‑up.
- Ensure adherence to international standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and documentation.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, morbidity & mortality reviews, and service development initiatives.
- Teach, mentor, and support residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.
- Engage in research, innovation, and evidence‑based practice to enhance cancer outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- American Board or Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) certification in Surgical Oncology.
- Minimum 8–10 years post‑training experience in a high‑volume tertiary or academic center.
- Proven expertise in complex cancer surgery and multidisciplinary cancer care pathways.
- Proficiency with modern surgical technologies and minimally invasive approaches.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant License.
