Role Overview
A leading hospital in Jeddah is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Upper GI & Minimally Invasive Surgeon to join its surgical team. The role involves managing complex gastrointestinal conditions, performing advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures, and contributing to clinical excellence, education, and research.
🩺 Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and surgically manage upper GI conditions including esophageal, gastric, and duodenal disorders.
Perform advanced minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic gastrectomy, fundoplication, and bariatric surgery.
Collaborate with oncology, gastroenterology, and radiology teams for multidisciplinary care.
Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up care.
Supervise surgical residents and fellows; contribute to academic teaching.
Participate in surgical audits, clinical governance, and CME activities.
Maintain compliance with SCFHS and hospital protocols.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Fellowship in Upper GI Surgery and Minimally Invasive Techniques.
Board Certification (e.g., Saudi Board, Arab Board, American/Canadian/European equivalent).
Valid Consultant classification with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Minimum 3–5 years post-specialization experience in upper GI and laparoscopic surgery.
Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery is a strong asset.
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
