Job Summary:
We are seeking a Consultant Geriatrician (American Board-Certified) to join our client's team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geriatric medicine and be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Geriatric Medicine. As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will play a crucial role in managing the health and well-being of our elderly patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to elderly patients, including diagnosing, treating, and managing medical conditions.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans and maintain continuity of care.
- Perform thorough assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions and polypharmacy.
- Conduct regular evaluations and follow up with patients to monitor their progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families on managing chronic medical conditions, promoting healthy lifestyle habits, and preventing disease.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advances and developments in geriatric medicine and apply them in clinical practice.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in clinical research projects to enhance the quality of care.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior staff, providing guidance and support in the care of elderly patients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in geriatric medicine.
- Board certification in geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- Active medical license in the state of practice and eligibility for licensure in Dubai.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geriatric medicine, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient-centric approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to make sound clinical judgments.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and respect cultural sensitivities.
