Accounting Assistant at Atlantic Comfort Systems, Inc

The Accounting Assistant for Atlantic Comfort Systems Inc. plays an integral part of our finance team. This role involves supporting the accounting department function with a variety of tasks including both accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation, reporting, data entry, and various administrative duties. Our ideal candidate has a basic understanding of accounting principles and is conscientious, detail-oriented, and confident in handling numerical data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with routine accounting duties including the processing and recording of accounts payable and receivable, preparing invoices, bank reconciliations, and expense reports.
• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Preparing and executing payment orders to multiple vendors.
• Assisting in streamlining and improving the company’s accounting procedures and systems.
• Supporting other teams with ad hoc projects when necessary.
• Providing administrative assistance to the accounting team e.g., maintaining financial files and records, and performing other general administrative tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or related field would be preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent Excel skills.
• Adept at working with accounting software—experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
• Excellent data entry skills coupled with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills, with the ability to demonstrate a clear decision-making ability.
