The role

As Finance & Ops Associate you’ll be the ultimate fox, having to work across different areas of the business as needs arise (finance, ops, recruiting, HR, legal). 

 

Working with our Head of Finance & Operations, you’ll help translate the company vision into the operating model and rhythm of the business.

 

Much of this role will evolve as we grow. We’re looking for a fast, constant learner with a proactive, positive attitude to help our business navigate the operational challenges we will encounter on our journey to becoming a world class SAAS company.

You will need to be a thinker, learner and a doer to be successful in this role.

You’ll be a critical part of the team, instrumental in driving change, and a huge part of the culture we’re building.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

Finance & Accounting 

  • Assist and manage AP & AR processes, cash management, company expenses
  • Liaising with external bookkeepers and month-end processes
  • Assist with other finance items such as business planning, strategy, budgeting/ forecasting

Operations & Risk Management

  • Support the Head of Finance & Ops with risk management/compliance, external audits, security questionnaires etc.
  • Supporting in designing and optimizing internal processes, policies and control environment

HR and Office admin

  • Assisting departments with recruiting, onboarding and offboarding and review processes
  • Office management, planning and execution of internal company events/socials etc.

Requirements

 

The must-haves:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc) or similar
  • Previous experience in a finance or similar role at a growing startup
  • Strong  knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Shows initiative and team player, with a hard working attitude 
  • High level of personal integrity, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion 
    • Hybrid-remote working culture with 2/3 days in the office per week
  • Learning quickly (and getting up to speed on new items) 

+ the nice-to-haves, someone with experience in:

  • Xero accounting software
  • Experience with recruitment processes
