As Commercial Business Unit Director, you will drive organizational success through new product launches and strategic market development. You will lead the commercial team in executing business objectives, growing revenue, and expanding market presence across specialty therapeutic areas.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing strategic business plans for multiple franchises, maximizing sales, profit, and market share for key brands. You will have overall accountability for business unit performance and contribution, including tactical execution and promotional activities. The role includes leadership of Marketing and Sales teams across the specialty portfolio and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
This position requires extensive experience in product launches, market development, and commercial leadership within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy & Operations
- Develop and implement annual business plans to achieve sales targets aligned with corporate objectives
- Lead commercial functions for existing brands and new product launches
- Create and execute integrated strategic plans to optimize market share and profitability
- Partner with leadership team on short and long-term company goals
- Manage departmental budgets and operational efficiency
Cross-functional Leadership
- Drive collaboration between commercial team and other departments
- Work with Business Intelligence to ensure data-driven decision making
- Ensure operational excellence across business units
- Coordinate with stakeholders to capitalize on market opportunities
- Maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor commercial team members
- Oversee performance management and talent development programs
- Foster culture of innovation and excellence
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives
Product Launch & Market Development
- Direct comprehensive launch strategies
- Develop market positioning and go-to-market plans
- Monitor market performance and competitive landscape
- Identify opportunities for business growth and improvement
- Lead digital transformation initiatives for brand portfolio
EDUCATION
- University degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or related field
- Advanced degree (MSc, MBA) preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years' experience in pharmaceutical industry, including Sales and Marketing roles with progressive leadership experience
- Experience in relevant therapeutic areas preferred
- Proven track record in commercial leadership and product launches
- Strong understanding of Market Access and its impact on commercial strategies
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies
- Demonstrated business acumen and analytical capabilities
