Axiom Data Science is looking for a detail-oriented team player to join our organization in the position of Grants and Contracts Manager. Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Grants and Contracts Manager will have both internal and external facing responsibilities managing various functional areas of the organization. Axiom desires a candidate with the ability to manage or assist with: grants and contracting administrative support for awards to Axiom Data Science, internal financial and accounting systems and processes, communications to external partners and funders, and public relations. The position duties will vary based on the candidates exact skillset, as it is understood that applicants may not have experience in all areas of grants administration, finance, and communications management. This position will provide excellent opportunities for learning and growth for a candidate interested in organizational management, financial operations, and communication/marketing.
Axiom is a small and dynamic (~20 person) technology and informatics firm with a mission to build a better understanding of society and the environment by increasing the accessibility, reuse, and impact of scientific data. To that end, we provide cyberinfrastructure support, data management systems, and scalable solutions for organizing and analyzing large amounts of diverse datasets to organizations across the globe. This position is being offered as part-time or full-time, depending on the interest of the successful applicant. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include 5 weeks paid leave plus holidays, healthcare reimbursement, a company 401K plan, and a gym membership.
It is expected that the position would work from home or remotely for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, the work location may be flexible for a well-qualified candidate, though we would prefer a candidate in proximity to our Anchorage office.
