At Bal Utsav, we don’t just run programs — we engineer transformation.
We’re looking for a Program Officer (Engagement) who thrives at the intersection of strategy, people, and purpose. You’ll help lead one of India’s most compelling school transformation portfolios — spanning infrastructure, scholarships, teacher development, and WASH — while also serving as the face of our corporate volunteer programs.
You’ll build and manage powerful partnerships, lead on-the-ground activations, and create unforgettable engagement journeys for our volunteers. You’ll be the bridge between corporate purpose and community impact — where relationships are nurtured, execution is precise, and change is tangible.
This is not a job for the passive. This is for someone who commands a room, inspires teams, manages partnerships, and turns every touchpoint into an opportunity for transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a ₹8–10 crore volunteer-led investment portfolio across infrastructure, teacher training, scholarships, and WASH programs.
- Build, manage, and mentor deep partnerships with implementing organisations, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes aligned with Bal Utsav’s mission.
- Design and lead corporate volunteer engagement programs that are strategic, inspiring, and logistically seamless.
- Act as a relationship manager for corporate partners, ensuring each volunteer's journey is memorable, meaningful, and impact-driven.
- Represent Bal Utsav during activations, site visits, and CSR events — with clarity, care, and confidence.
- Conduct field visits to assess program health, co-create action plans, and support implementation. (Expect 45–50% travel.)
- Coordinate across internal departments — finance, creative, tech, reporting, and compliance — to ensure seamless program delivery.
- Drive program performance assessments and co-create future plans with the Director of Programs and Director of Engagement.
- Capture stories, progress updates, and insights from the field for internal reflection and donor engagement.
- Grow and manage a post-implementation support system for schools to ensure long-term sustainability.
Must-Haves
- Experience
- 3+ years working in education, development, or community engagement programs, ideally within the Indian public school or CSR ecosystem.
- Experience designing or executing employee engagement or volunteer programs.
- Master’s degree preferred in Education, Development Studies, Social Work, or similar fields.
- Exceptional freshers with relevant academic background and high learning agility may also apply.
- Skills
- Public speaking and facilitation skills — you can move people with words and presence.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management capabilities.
- Project management proficiency: deadlines, details, and diplomacy.
- Clear, compelling communication — written and verbal.
- Collaborative mindset and comfort working across departments and cultures.
What You’re Like
- You’re a leader — you inspire action and accountability.
- You’re a connector — people trust you and teams move because of you.
- You’re hospitality-minded — volunteers feel seen, valued, and motivated in your presence.
- You’re a strategic thinker — you don’t just deliver events; you design impact.
- You’re a communicator — whether at a mic or on a Zoom, your message lands.
- You love stories — from schoolyards, classrooms, and conversations on the ground.
Location
- Bangalore, Karnataka, India (This is an in-office role with significant field travel. Applicants must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate.)

Experience Level
- Mid-level (Exceptional freshers may apply with relevant degrees and demonstrated people-facing strengths.)
