We’re seeking a dedicated Accounting Quality Control Lead to become the backbone of financial accuracy and organization for our client’s clients.
- Full time: 40 hours per week
- 100% remote job / independent contractor
- Working hours: Flexible, preferably Dutch working hours (CET)
- Monthly Starting Salary: $1400 (can be higher, depending on candidate’s level of experience)
Position Overview:
As an Accounting Quality Control Lead, you’ll be the essential quality control hub for our client’s financial data. This role is ideal for a meticulous, proactive professional who’s skilled at spotting issues before they arise, organizing financial data, and ensuring seamless reporting for management use. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, an eye for detail, and the ability to turn complex requests into actionable accounting solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize bookkeeping processes across multiple client accounts.
- Maintain integrations between payment systems (Stripe, PayPal, and traditional banks) and accounting software, with expert troubleshooting abilities.
- Implement tracking systems for various revenue streams, including performance fees and service-specific revenue.
- Ensure accuracy in departmental cost allocation and service line reporting.
- Conduct monthly financial performance reviews, verifying data integrity.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank transactions and accounting records with a proactive approach.
- Implement and maintain data quality controls, fostering best practices across platforms.
- Guide and coordinate with client bookkeepers, ensuring precise data entry and categorization.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for data management, transforming management requirements into practical accounting solutions.
- Create and refine automated solutions for recurring accounting tasks, maintaining system integrity across platforms.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and reconciliation.
- Proven track record of managing multiple client accounts in an accounting firm or similar multi-client environment (preferably agencies).
- Expertise in Xero and QuickBooks with in-depth knowledge of payment system integrations (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
- Familiarity with cash vs. accrual accounting and tax regulations (VAT, expense categorization).
- Specific experience working with agency clients (marketing, coaching, consultancy) or similar small business backgrounds is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and tracking systems.
- Flexibility in working hours to coordinate with management’s schedule, preferably within Dutch time hours.
