- Job Title: Director of Christian Education for Bethany United Methodist Church
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Christian education program for children, youth, and adults that aligns with the mission and vision of Bethany United Methodist Church.
- Provide effective leadership and training for a team of volunteers and staff involved in Christian education.
- Plan and coordinate outreach events to engage the wider community in our Christian education program.
- Collaborate with the pastoral staff to integrate Christian education into worship and other church activities.
- Create and oversee curriculum for all age groups, focusing on topics such as faith formation, spiritual practices, biblical literacy, and social justice.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding upcoming events, curriculum, and other updates.
- Monitor and manage the Christian education budget, making recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in the overall planning and visioning for the church.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Christian education, theology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in leading Christian education programs in a church setting.
- Strong understanding of Christian doctrine and United Methodist theology.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of volunteers and staff.
- Experience working with children, youth, and adults of all ages.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Christian education.
- Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to develop new and engaging programs for all age groups.
