Purpose of the role:
To work proactively in partnership with organisation leaders, implementing finance processes and strategies, assisting with the smooth operation of the finance function, providing strong finance leadership in delivering cultural values and best practice throughout the organisation.
The role requires the JFBP to provide expertise, advice and support and guidance to service leads and their teams in all finance related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end reporting process for designated business units (Municipal, Facilities Management, and Commercial).
- Deliver clear, concise analysis and commentary on business unit performance to senior stakeholders.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights aligned with strategic objectives.
- Improve the visibility, impact, and relevance of financial reporting to enhance decision-making.
- Support the annual budgeting process for Facilities Management and Commercial units.
- Build strong working relationships with service managers and senior leaders to drive operational and financial improvements.
- Develop and maintain effective commercial procedures to support operational, financial, and strategic targets.
- Provide timely and accurate KPI reporting and other performance metrics.
- Analyse business opportunities, modelling financial scenarios and providing recommendations.
- Present forecasts, variance analysis, and budget updates, highlighting financial risks and opportunities.
- Identify and drive efficiency and cost-saving opportunities through finance insight.
- Assist with preparation for year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Understand key cost drivers and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partner as required.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant or QBE
- Previous experience in a finance business partnering or similar role
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive attitude and ability to build relationships
- Ability to deal effectively with a range of internal stakeholders on finance-related matters
- Commitment to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to produce high quality business documents and reports
Flexible and positive attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of finance tasks
