SALARY: £45,741 per annum
HOURS: 40 per week, Monday – Friday, minimum of 1 weekend per month

ReUse Growth Manager
Purpose of the role:
Raise the profile of our ReUse business (shops and IT) supporting residents to shift their mindset from seeing things we no longer want as waste, and instead as a valuable resource that can be reused or repurposed
Work with operational and support colleagues to deliver an exceptional city reuse offer, leading to an increase in sales revenue and items diverted to reuse
Continue to professionalise our ReUse offer, build on our community partnerships and grow our great team of volunteers to take our offer to the next level
Grow our ReUse profit from £90k to £250k profit in year 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Define growth goals and objectives
- Oversee the growth of our ReUse business to increase revenue
- Identify new business opportunities that align with BWC’s strategic goals
- Develop new products or services appropriate to our ReUse offer
- Enhance retail offer and environment
- Ensure appropriate stock management systems, sales systems and pricing is in place
- Make sure our shops are safe places to work and visit
- Identify potential partners or suppliers and develop mutually beneficial partnerships to support the circular economy in Bristol
- Monitor national/ international and industry trends to identify new opportunities for business growth
- Working with I&S act as a champion for emerging policies and practice on reuse for household items, developing a circular economy for the benefit of Bristol residents and Bristol Waste
- To cooperate with Bristol’s Reuse Network and repair cafes in ensuring that Bristol Waste is part of the overall city-wide solutions to the circular economy
- To look for new opportunities that enhance the social value of the Company through employment opportunities, re-training/upskilling
- Develop where appropriate training programmes, educational materials working with volunteers and other partners
- Report on progress to executive team
Team leadership
- Mobilise the team’s skills and experience (both staff and volunteers) to have the biggest impact, working flexibly to deliver
- Coach and develop a high performing team. Ensure team members have objectives, development plans etc
- Responsible for recruitment, learning and development across the team
- Agree service standards for the team and report on them
- Responsible for the management of the finance, assets, and resources within the team
- Agree the annual budgets and ensure that proper systems and controls are maintained
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- Retail experience and willing to roll up sleeves and get stuck in as needed
- Strong financial acumen with experience of creating budgets, forecast revenue, and analysing financial data
- Business development experience with an ability to develop strategies to grow revenue
- Good teamworking skills and the confidence to lead and motivate a team
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to adapt communications to different audiences and influence others
- Experience of strategic delivery and project management
- Ability to think creatively and use judgement, experience, and initiative to solve problems
- An interest in the environment and sustainability and an understanding of relevant legislation
- Results orientated with the ability to prioritise and to work to deadline
- Ability to think creatively to reach new customers
- Current and valid driving licence
- A strong commitment to the vision and values of Bristol Waste Company and a genuine desire to take responsibility and make a significant contribution to helping the company achieve its objectives
