About Bristol Waste Company:

We do this for our city’s residents, workers, visitors, and businesses. Our work helps deliver Bristol’s sustainability targets in partnership with the council.

Bristol Waste’s commercial operation, where we serve businesses and organisations across the region, is also growing.

Our ambition is to provide good quality, value for money services, and we continue to deliver a social value impact worth more than £30 million every year.

We want people who share our values and want to work with us to drive our business forward.

Purpose of the role:

The Security & CViT Service Manager is responsible for the daily delivery and management of Static Security and Cash & Valuables in Transit (CViT) services. The role ensures efficient service delivery, compliance with industry standards, and high levels of client satisfaction.

The post holder will work closely with team leaders to maintain operational performance, support staff development, and contribute to the successful mobilisation of new contracts, under the guidance of the Senior Security Service Manager and Contract Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

  • Manage the daily operations of Static Security and CViT services, ensuring efficient deployment of staff and resources.
  • Monitor performance against contractual requirements, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with BS7858, SIA ACS, NSI Gold, and CIT regulations.
  • Support incident management and escalation procedures.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership to Static Security and CViT team leaders, ensuring effective supervision of staff.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of security and CViT personnel.
  • Promote staff retention through proactive engagement and a positive team culture.
  • Ensure teams maintain required SIA licensing and operational standards.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for clients regarding Static Security and CViT services.
  • Attend meetings, provide operational updates, and ensure follow-up actions are delivered.
  • Resolve client queries promptly, escalating significant issues to the Senior Security Service Manager or Contract Manager.

Contract Mobilisation & Growth Support

  • Support the mobilisation of new security and CViT contracts, including workforce planning, training, and resource allocation.
  • Assist in cost analysis and ensuring financial viability of services.
  • Engage with clients during mobilisation to clarify expectations and service standards.
  • Identify and feedback potential opportunities for service expansion or improvement.

Performance & Compliance

  • Track operational KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with security and CViT regulations, including audit preparation and evidence collation.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to support wider security strategy.

General Accountabilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safe working practices are followed by all staff.
  • Work in compliance with Bristol Waste policies, codes of conduct, and Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Contribute to continual improvement of the IMS and service delivery.

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • Proven experience in security operations and/or CViT management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of SIA ACS, NSI Gold, BS7858, and CViT best practices.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing operational priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor, with CViT desirable).

Full Job Description can be provided upon request.

Our Benefits:

  • Annual leave package of 25 days plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Employer contribution of 5% into the company pension scheme.
  • Support for Mental Health, including a BUPA Employee Assistance Programme that provides support covering Mental Health, Financial and Family related topics. We also have Mental Health First Aiders across the business.
  • Support for your Physical Health with our BUPA Health Cash Plan (we cover the cost of coverage for you), Cycle to Work scheme and an onsite Physiotherapist. All are free for our colleagues.
  • Because we value our colleagues, we want to recruit more employees just like them, which is why we have our employee referral scheme.
  • Dedicated learning and development team. We take pride in developing our colleagues and some examples of this include our In-House Driver Development Programme and internal promotions. Many of our Senior Leadership Team have developed from Operational roles, such as one of our Contract Managers who started as a Street Cleanser.
  • Employee recognition ‘Stand Out Award’ and long service awards. To celebrate our colleagues wherever they are on their journey with us, we recognise and celebrate talent.
  • We recognise that everyone is different and strive to create an environment that supports all colleagues through flexible working. We have introduced a hybrid working model where possible and actively encourage part-time working, job sharing and flexibility on hours. If this interests, you please do get in touch, and we can start a conversation.
