Purpose of the role:
Efficient and effective preparation of company vehicles, including cleansing, refuelling, and safely parking to optimise for service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure vehicle reports are completed correctly, both manually and electronically, in date and retained
- Communicating with Bristol Waste Company Supervisors and Fitters on vehicle availability and tasks
- Manage vehicle fuel levels
- Manoeuvre vehicles within depot and park vehicle to maximise depot efficiency
- Clean vehicles and all operational mechanisms
- Responsibility and maintenance of depot security
Essential Requirements and Qualifications for the Role:
- Ability to demonstrate skills to drive and park a range of large goods vehicles and forklift trucks (forklift training will be provided)
- Experience of, or ability to demonstrate suitability for, physical work and manual handling, including pushing and pulling 360L wheelie bins, operating a pressure washer and manual sweeping
- Ability to demonstrate suitability to access narrow vehicle body doors.
- Experience or ability to demonstrate administration skills to ensure accurate written completion of workshop reports and updating to an electronic device (training provided)
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Hold a full driving licence valid for use in the UK
- Demonstrable flexible approach to work assignments, including daytime attendance at training
- Experience or ability to demonstrate skills to evaluate health and safety risks
- Ability to work well within a small team
- Ability to work independently and to use own initiative
Desirable Requirements Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Counterbalance forklift licence
- Relevant experience of driving large vehicles or hold a Category C license
- Holder of a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Security Guard Licence and/or experience of depot security duties and arrangements
