Winter Maintenance Gritter Driver
Pay/Hours
Fixed Payment for weekly standby availability - £113.93
Hourly payment for out of core hours Monday- Saturday - £25.01
Additional payment for Sundays and Bank holidays - £33.35
Location: Days road, or other Bristol Waste Company locations as required.
Is this role for me?
You will be operating a Gritting vehicle on allocated routes as part of a team to maintain the road surfaces above freezing point through salt spreading. Ensuring availability on a Rota during a season between October and April.
Requirements for the role:
- LGV category C (class 2 licence)
- Current driver CPC
- Ability to gain City and Guilds 6159 on winter maintenance.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to drive / operate a range of vehicles, fixed / mobile plant and equipment
- Prepared to work outside of normal hours to maintain the service
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change roles to meet operational requirements
- Good team member
- Good communication skills when dealing with problems
