CDN Staff Engineer

The Role

In order to ensure success as a Senior CDN Staff Engineer, you should demonstrate specialized engineering knowledge and experience working with a content delivery network (CDN), hosting environment, or other critical internet infrastructure. A Senior CDN Staff Engineer will be someone whose engineering expertise translates into streamlined and cost-effective processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement CDN features requested by customers
• Own major software architecture projects
• Build instrumentation, metrics, tools 
• Work on internal provisioning systems
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

What We Look for in a Candidate

• 7+ Years of experience as a Software or DevOps Engineer
• 5 years of experience with Nginx and Haproxy
• 3+ years of experience as CDN Engineer
• Good knowledge of databases and SQL
• 3+ years of experience with Go
• 3+ years of experience with PHP
• Experience owning API projects 
• Problem-solving attitude
• Skills: Personal accountability, professional communication and demonstrated time management skills.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to build relationships over the phone or via Slack. Must have a proactive communication style ensuring timely status of projects to account team and customer.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to reprioritize as needed or as directed to respond to changing business requirements. Must be detail oriented.
• Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 10%)

We are a fully remote organization, with team members spread across multiple countries and time zones. Though we require that employees be available from 10 AM to 2 PM ET regardless of time zone, our work policy allows for a flexible schedule. Outside of this, it is expected that employees are always meeting deadlines and attending pre-arranged meetings.
