Position Summary
As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible to provide weekday coverage for management, support, and troubleshooting of our Linux-based infrastructure that powers our CDN . This role is critical to ensuring that our CDN operates with minimal latency, highest availability and maximum throughput. You will work closely with senior systems administrators and architects to monitor system performance, resolve issues, and implement system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain virtual and physical Linux servers, ensuring system performance and availability.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems and software.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for system issues, working closely with other teams and customers.
- Implement system updates, patches, and security measures to maintain system integrity and security.
- Improve infrastructure and customer documentation, update processes and procedures to ensure effective knowledge management and transfer.
- Improve automation by adopting DevOps principles and contributing to various internal configuration management tools and projects.
Requirements
- Working Monday to Friday 8 Hour shifts and sometimes Saturday and Sunday 12 Hours shifts
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Debian) and system administration tasks.
- Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), common web serving technologies (Apache, nginx, varnish, squid, haproxy, etc.) and basic security practices.
- Knowledge of HTTP, caching, CDN architecture, DevOps principles is highly desired
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on providing high-quality customer service.
