Location: Based at Head Office in Glasgow plus regular visits to sites

The role:
This role is responsible for ensuring Health and Safety compliance across CSMU Ltd. You will be responsible for implementing policies, procedures and safe working practices on sites and company premises. There is training available to improve your skill set to the required level.

Key responsibilities:
- Understanding the requirements of all legislation and regulations appertaining to Health and Safety management of the company’s activities
- Promoting a positive approach to Health and Safety to all employees as well as others who may be affected by the Company activities.
- Ensuring that adequate Health and Safety planning of projects is carried out prior to commencement and safe start programme is implemented by the production team.
- Producing all necessary controls (risk/noise/COSHH assessments, Health & Safety plans etc).
- Arranging and undertaking toolbox talks and training as necessary, including H&S inductions for new starters.
- Carry out regular inspections and monitoring of operations to ensure compliance, stopping dangerous operations if necessary and reporting of repeated or major failures.
- Ensuring correct reporting of incidents and accidents where necessary.
- Overseeing the management of H&S training including maintaining the training matrix, identifying training needs.
- Maintain and develop close working relationships with clients; provide best possible service; achieve client satisfaction; promoting repeat orders and preference for using the company.
- Represent the company with HSE as and when required.
Desirable skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety advisory roles.
- Civils or Construction industry experience would be an advantage.
- NEBOSH Construction certificate (or working towards).
- Competence in incident and accident investigation.
- Strong H&S legal knowledge and practical application.
- Experience of delivery of H&S training.
- Proven ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
