Dexerto is looking for an experienced freelance games writer with a passion for Pokemon and Nintendo games.
This is a temporary position and you would be contracted to write for Dexerto for the rest of 2023.
You should be a talented writer who is able to source and write compelling news stories and guides that will appeal to Pokemon and Nintendo. The ideal candidate will have encylopedic knowledge of all aspects of Pokemon - that means Pokemon GO, main series Pokemon games, the Trading Card Game, and more. Wider knowledge of gaming is also desirable, especially for Nintendo games that will be released in 2023.
As well as writing content and being on top of the latest trends, you will work with Dexerto's Games Editor and staff writers to plan and execute content around major releases and events.
Some knowledge of SEO is essential while experience of analytics is desirable.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Pokemon, including all games, the Trading Card Game, and more
- Expert knowledge of Nintendo games
- A snappy and compelling writing style
- Able to write to short deadlines under pressure
- Have a keen attention to detail – can spot grammatical errors and fact check.
- Able to act independently on writing tasks
- Is confident with social media
- SEO knowledge
- Analytics is desirable
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop and be able to use it competently
- Experience with content management systems
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
