Dexerto are looking for a full-time Games Writer for our Spanish website, Dexerto.es
The majority of the content you will produce will be translated into Spanish from Dexerto’s English language website, so it is essential that you are fluent in English and Spanish.
We are looking for a writer who has great general knowledge of gaming, including games that Dexerto.es covers on a weekly basis such as Call of Duty, EA Sports FC, and Pokemon. You should also be across all the latest trends in gaming and be willing and able to cover the biggest current and upcoming games, including Diablo, Baldur's Gate, Spider-Man and more. Other knowledge areas that would be beneficial include gaming streamers, social media trends, and TV and Movies.
This is a varied role that will give you the chance to develop your skills in many different ways. Your main task will be to cover news and publish and update compelling guides, making sure that they are formatted to effectively answer readers’ searches. You’ll use data provided by our SEO Manager to optimize articles for specific keywords while working with our editors to ensure content is of a high standard.
We are looking for an organized person who is able to confidently research and write about a variety of topics. You’ll be expected to use content management systems and spreadsheets, so you will need to be comfortable with technology and be able to pick up new working practices quickly. Writing experience, understanding of SEO practices, basic photo editing skills, and familiarity with Google Sheets would also be desirable.
Requirements:
- Understanding and knowledge of gaming
- Good writing skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail – able to spot grammatical errors and formatting mistakes
- Great communication skills – able to take instruction and keep various members of the team updated on progress
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop or similar programs
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
- Experience with Google Sheets and content management systems, photo editing skills, and SEO knowledge is desirable, but not essential
- Some writing experience is desirable
