Dexerto is looking for a talented full-time writer who can specialise in MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV. This is a remote position, so we will consider talented writers from anywhere in the world.
You should be an ambitious writer who is able to source and write compelling stories that will appeal to fans of MMOs and fantasy games in general. You need to have encyclopaedic knowledge of some MMOs in order to cover the latest news and write and update guides.
The ability to write about other games and gaming culture would also be helpful as you will be expected to be able to write news about any big game.
Knowledge of SEO is also desirable.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV
- Broader knowledge of gaming, especially fantasy games
- A snappy and compelling writing style
- Able to write to short deadlines under pressure
- Have a keen attention to detail – can spot grammatical errors and fact check.
- Creative ability – able think of feature ideas and suggest news stories that will resonate with our audience
- Able to act independently on writing tasks
- Is confident with social media
- SEO knowledge desirable
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop and be able to use it competently
- Experience with content management systems is desirable
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
