Dexerto is looking for a Tabletop and Trading Card Game writer. A passion for Magic The Gathering is essential, but we would also like someone who could cover the likes of Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Pokemon Trading Card Games and more. This is a remote position so you will be expected to work from home on a UK timezone.
You would be writing news, features and guides about all of these products that a consumer can purchase - whether that be the latest Magic The Gathering or Pokemon Trading Cards, rare and valuable items, and new Dungeons and Dragons books or Warhammer sets.
In addition to this a broader knowledge of video games and TV and Movies is desirable as you would also be expected to cover gaming and TV and Movies merchandise, including things like Lego sets, Funko Pops and more.
You will also be expected to produce copy for Dexerto's advertisement features and advertorials.
This is a role in which passion, knowledge and writing talent are the most important things. However, writing experience for a publication is desirable as is some SEO knowledge.
Requirements:
- Understanding and knowledge of Tabletop and Trading Card Gaming
- Good writing skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail – able to spot grammatical errors and formatting mistakes
- Great communication skills – able to take instruction and keep various members of the team updated on progress
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop or similar programs
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
- Experience with Google Sheets and content management systems, photo editing skills, and SEO knowledge is desirable, but not essential
- Some writing experience is desirable
