Dexerto is looking for a talented Trending Food writer to join our passionate editorial team, working remotely from home to cover viral food trends and entertaining news stories related to food.
This is a full-time position (5 days per week) and will be Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will be a versatile writer who can find compelling food trends we can share with our audience, whether it's a limited-edition McDonald's menu item – such as the Pokemon cards in Happy Meals – or a new recipe that's gone viral on TikTok.
Having an awareness of all the major fast-food chains in the United States is essential. These include: McDonald's, KFC, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, Wendys, Dominos, Papa Johns, and other delivery services like Uber or Doordash. Knowledge of the more dine-in chains, such as Outback Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, etc, would also be good.
As well as covering trending news stories, the Trending Food writer will be responsible for writing some SEO guide content, lists, and explainers. Knowledge of the Food Network's or Netflix's Reality TV shows would be an advantage but is not essential.
So, if you're a Guys Grocery Games fanatic, make sure to mention it in your cover letter!
Experience in writing for a publication is advantageous (news, evergreen, SEO content), but it is most important that you demonstrate your passion for all kinds of food stories.
We’re looking for people who are really in the loop with what the next big fast food trend is and somebody who understands what trending food subjects resonate with a wide audience.
