Dexerto is looking for a TV & Movies Writer to join our North America-based team (US, Canada), working remotely from home.
Your main task will be to write and update compelling content about TV and movies. On top of covering the biggest news stories of the day, you will utilize data provided by our Evergreen Editor and SEO Manager to optimize articles for specific keywords while working with our editors to ensure content is of a high standard.
Strong knowledge of high-profile franchises is essential for the role. You should be interested in the biggest movies premiering each month and the biggest shows streaming on Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and beyond. For example, knowledge of the likes of Marvel, DC, Star Trek, Star Wars would be advantageous to have – as you will be writing news and guides around the big releases. Other examples may be Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, etc.
Knowledge of Reality TV would be desirable but not essential. Be sure to list the shows/movies you are most interested in within your cover letter.
You may also have the opportunity to review new releases depending on your passions and expertise.
Requirements:
- Understanding and knowledge of the TV and Movies landscape
- Good writing skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- SEO knowledge
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail – able to spot grammatical errors and formatting mistakes
- Great communication skills – able to take instruction and keep various members of the team updated on progress
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop or similar programs
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
- Experience with Google Sheets and content management systems
