dnata Erbil are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and qualified team member to join our Cargo Team. 

 

A successful Equipment Operator will be responsible for proficiently driving and operating a verity of technical equipment while holding appropriate qualifications and licenses. Additionally, this position also involves working independently or collaboratively within a team to execute manual and technical tasks related to the safe loading and unloading of equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety check of pallet stops is carried out before handling ULD’s /dollies from in and around cargo breakdown area and warehouses.
  • Ensure all MHE allocated to him are serviceable with sufficient fuel for daily tasks and in a safe condition for driving on ramp, cargo breakdown areas and warehouses.
  • Ensure safety of self, pedestrians and other vehicle operations by observing speed limits and cargo load limits applicable to the type of MHE when manoeuvring in and around cargo breakdown and delivery areas.
  • Provide and operate different types of Ground Support Equipment to Operating Airlines as per the request received from the Cargo Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Safely and correctly load, off load and segregate dead-load according to standards and customer requirements.
  • Strictly comply with all relevant company Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Airport Authority Standards and Regulatory requirements. 
  • Take responsibility for individual safety and security issues and perform directed health and safety activities and checks.
  • Must ensure the correct handling and transportation of laden and un-laden ULD’s is followed at all times in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report all damage to MHE, ground handling equipment and cargo immediately.
  • Assist breakdown staff in the loading & offloading, of cargo & mail from vehicles and ULD’s. Should have knowledge of ULD handling, breakdown and build up procedure & associated safety regulations.
  • Ensure optimization of space by stacking the load in an orderly and safe manner in build-up area and bulk holds, and ensure restraints are adequate and as per the appropriate authority standards and regulations. 
  • Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
  • Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer.
  • Cooperate with your employer when they require something to be done for health and safety at the workplace

Job specific Requirements

  • High School (Minimum of 10 years of schooling required)
  • Valid driver’s license and at least two year of driving experience to perform the job safely (driving license with minimum validity of 6 months)

Practical Role requirements

  • Relevant licences as per dnata Erbil training and license matrix
  • Proficient knowledge in Airport Operations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Ground Support Equipment (forklift / two tractor)
