dnata Zanzibar are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and qualified team member to join our Cargo Team.

A successful Cargo Loader ensures the safe and smooth handling of cargo throughout Cargo Operations by performing a multi-skilled role while utilizing the resources provided effectively. Tasks include, but are not limited to, documentation, customer service, acceptance, delivery, breakdown, build-up, equipment operation, transport, and coordination with government authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct or participate in cargo loading to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
  • Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated marshalling areas and help load and unload goods safely.
  • Contact vendors or claims adjustment departments to resolve shipment problems or contact service depots to arrange for repairs.
  • Attach address labels, identification codes, and shipping instructions to containers.
  • Coordinate and supervise activities of workers engaged in packing and shipping merchandise.
  • Route received goods to first available flight or to appropriate storage areas or departments, using forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment.
  • Determine method of shipment and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Notify consignees, passengers, or customers of freight or baggage arrival and arrange for delivery when applicable.
  • Check import or export documentation to determine cargo contents
  • Ensure a high degree of customer service, attentiveness, speed, and control error rates, whilst maintaining consistency in service standards.
  • Inspect, validate against relevant documentation and count goods at every point of delivery, acceptance, breakdown and build-up ensuring that goods conform to relevant criteria and that they are dispatched / stored in accordance with standard work procedures and principals requirements.
  • Perform manual and automated data input. Ensure data updates into relevant cargo systems are done accurately, are verified and completed within time standards.
  • Ensure at all times that the handling of all special cargo (dangerous goods, live animals, valuable goods etc) fully complies with the current edition of the IATA manuals and are loaded in accordance with the same.
  • Ensure that safety and security procedures are complied with at all times while handling cargo.
  • Perform the process of acceptance, delivery, build up and breakdown of cargo consignments. 
  • Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
  • Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Cargo operations and Cashier
  • Proficient knowledge in Airport Operations
  • Prefferable Female Candidates
