Responsibilities:
- Provide existing and potential customers with a superior and consistent quality service, both directly and in conjunction with airlines. To ensure efficient day to day Cargo Operations within the location by guiding and directing the team and adhering to dnata Cargo procedures.
- Recommends improvements to Cargo Operations standards and procedures and ensures the implementation of these procedures and controls
- Identify and deploy resources according to priority and workload.
- Ensure that staff follow procedures according to work instruction and IATA rules. If any changes or new procedures are introduced, ensure all are aware of the same.
- Plan, organise and co-ordinate the operational activities to ensure optimal efficiencies and productivity, delegating responsibilities to and controlling subordinate staff as appropriate.
- Resolve problems arising such as delays, disruptions, cargo mishandling and transfer cargo
- Investigate and respond to queries, complaints and claims received from internal and external customers in an efficient and timely manner, restoring customer confidence
- Coordinates resources on a shift basis to ensure that the SLAs are delivered to customers in collaboration with the Duty Officer
- Conducts safety briefings regularly at the beginning of the shift to ensure that all safety standards are known and adhered to.
- Ensures that operating procedures are followed and safe working practices are strictly adhered to.
- Implements robust service recovery measures to handle customer complaints and service recovery initiatives
- Motivate, train and give feedback to staff to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to ensure high standard of service is maintained. Provide on the job training and manage performance, including corrective action. Undertake performance appraisals and development planning
- Maintains an overview of Cargo Operations and stakeholder activities providing co-ordination and leadership to achieve dnata and Cargo’s objectives.
- Maintains full contact with dnata Duty Officer to allow full transparency of the critical path of cargo activities.
- Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
- Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer.
- Cooperate with your employer when they require something to be done for health and safety at the workplace
- Ensure knowledge of policies and procedures are understood and followed with respect to their position.
- Maintain recurrent training and competences.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations and acceptance (CAT-6) currently holds / has previously held a DG certificate
- Knowledge of Live Animals Regulations and acceptance procedure
- Computer based skills including Microsoft Word/ Excel/ E-mail Analytical and numeracy skills.
- The job holder is also responsible for adhering to the relevant health and safety requirements and safe working practices applicable to their employment.
