dnata Zanzibar are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and qualified team member to join our Aviation Security Team.

A successful Security Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the security operations for dnata Zanzibar. He/ she will implement security policies, regulations, rules, and norms and make sure that the environment in their organization is safe for employers and visitors.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Assign duties & responsibilities to shift resource. Deploy & allocate area of work and monitor service level standards during the shift.
- Supervise available resources and functions and ensure that Security Operations function smoothly in accordance with prescribed Standards & Procedures.
- Maintain the integrity of Cargo Supply Chain Security. TCAA, GCAA, TSA & ECAC standards are followed correctly.
- Oversee the RA3 Validation commitments and ensure that no violation happens at cargo warehouses.
- Attend Security Violations during the shift and ensure corrective actions where required. Log discrepancies and gather incident evidence.
- Supervise mandatory escorts for hard freight & baggage at airport & cargo operations.
- Gather incident evidence, write initial incident report or primary investigation report to expedite investigations process and corrective measures in case of non-compliances.
- Provide required estimation on the incident and safeguard evidence for investigation process.
- Oversee all operational departments including Customer Service, Aircraft Appearance, Turnaround, Baggage, Load Control and Cargo to ensure the safe and cost-effective handling of flights
- Develops the broad functional strategy for the Airport Operations and ensures it is cascaded down to all employees across the business
- Ensures that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented
- Oversees the implementation of policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled
- Manages the preparation and consolidation of budgets and monitors financial performance versus the budget
- Develops and ensures implementation of the highest standard of customer service to carriers, private companies and cargo agents while controlling the efficient delivery of services
- Build and maintain relationships and close contact with company departments and airport agencies to ensure strict coordination and understanding of changing policies, systems and procedures
- Conduct Risk Assessments on activities within their department, ensuring that the methods and systems of work are safe and secure. Also, the necessary procedures, rules and regulations designed to achieve this are formulated, published and applied.
- Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE’s) provided are used according to the requirements of the respective area.
- Ensure accident and near-miss reporting procedures are understood and complied with including Ontime reporting, Investigations and CAPA Closure. Also, assist with accident investigations where appropriate.
- Reprimand any employee for failing to discharge their health and safety & environmental responsibilities.
- Set a personal example with regard to health and safety matters.
- Any other required support as assigned with the Duty Manager on shift
Safety
- Ensure that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviors and follows up on corrective actions.
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and control to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure safety of staff that they have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely by providing support, directions, being a role model for the desire safety behaviors and leading with safety.
Job Specific skills/ Requirements
- Advanced Secondary School Certificate or Diploma holder
- No criminal records.
- Valid Aviation Security Certificate is a mandatory.
- Not less than 3 years’ experience in Aviation Security.
- Dangerous good training/knowledge will be added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with various levels of management an external/internal customer
