Reports to: Sales & Fitness Manager

Based: Wandsworth  

Salary: £28,000

Role Overview

 

Are you a fitness enthusiast, assistant manager, group exercise manager or sales manager looking for your next career move? 

 

Enable Leisure is now recruiting for a Membership and Group Exercise Coordinator role across multiple sites. Based predominantly in Battersea Park, this role will also require travel to other sites within South West London including Barnes, Tooting and Battersea Reach.  

 

With an overarching focus to drive our fitness product and meeting the needs of our local community this role is a great step forward in your fitness career and will lead to you overseeing multi-site fitness operations at our four gym sites. 

 

Reporting to the Sales & Fitness Manager your main role will be to become the member liaison between staff and members and actively process all membership changes (freezes, cancellations, corporate rates). Alongside this, the role will require you to drive group exercise performance and therefore improve our membership package to not only recruit new members but also set the best standards for our current members and instructors too.

Job Purpose

  • Day-to-day management of fitness inbox including responding to enquiries, generating leads, booking appointments and driving sales of all gym memberships
  • Port of call for all new joiners, leavers and any membership alterations across 4 sites
  • Management of group exercise timetables across 4 sites
  • Reporting into Sales and Fitness Manager to measure usage of day passes, class performance and opportunities for growth/expansion of gym products and services  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Exceptional personal customer service skills, delivering exceptional service to our members
  • Use digital (social media and website) to generate leads and drive sales (in partnership with marketing team)
  • Ensure each club generates leads, books appointments and hits sales targets as well as keeps their “live number” ahead of forecast
  • Welcome all new members into each site and ensure they receive a personalised introduction to the fitness areas, so every member feels at home at their club (via personal video message-help from site staff and fitness manager)
  • Put members first, motivate site staff, liaise with marketing team, and work alongside the Sales & Fitness Manager and Site Managers to get the most out of each gym
  • Responsibility for monthly payment run (BACS) and following up missed payments
  • Lead on timetable design for each site-cohesion with member feedback, liaise with current instructor team to ensure we offer the best motivation and enthusiasm with our product (Mystery shop current classes)
  • Drive new member sales initiatives through sales planning and outreach activity in each local area-Work closely with Sales & Fitness Manager and Site Manager
  • Assist with creating and implementing a fun lead generation/ sales environment with each team to generate buy in (event days, challenges)
  • Assisting with restructuring gym layouts when required to ensure optimum usage of space. Input on new project ideas with a view to build the fitness product
  • Teaching and covering classes (likely 1 per day teaching and cover when needed)
  • Maximise membership revenue through recruiting new joiners, reducing leavers and aim to achieve and exceed membership live targets and KPI’s (daily, weekly and monthly)  
  • Generate awareness of each club in the local catchment, and be proactive in generating new leads through current members and outreach activities outside each club to reach commission targets
  • Carry out prospect tours when on site and deliver ongoing training to both new and existing staff to improve conversion of sales
  • Keep up to date with local competition and current fitness trends through mystery calls, visits, attending conferences and seminars. 

Personal Specification

  • Experience working within a customer focussed service
  • Experience of leading by example to drive high standards and performance  
  • Experience in teaching and delivering a wide range of classes  
  • Experience of managing freelance instructors and trainers  
  • Experience of membership sales, marketing planning, financial management, a proven track record of achieving targets and KPIs
  • Familiar with BACS and AUDDIS and Direct Debit reporting  
  • Target focussed – visible determination to contribute and deliver on KPI’s and hold other to account through building a strong team ethos
  • Effective Communication – the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels, including liaising with members to resolve issues and listening to feedback to provide clear systems of change  
  • Pro-active - aways leading by example and engaging with members and staff to ensure quality standards are delivered
  • Innovative – the ability to bring new ideas forward that contribute to improvement of the business both at service and revenue generating levels
  • Decision making – have the confidence to make decisions regarding membership issues and have the ability to clearly explain your view regarding timetable changes to ensure the customer is at the forefront of decisions being made 
  • Able to work out of normal office hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a shift pattern.
  • Level 2 exercise to music qualification minimum.
