As a forward-thinking organisation, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team and drive growth and delivery in the Rail, Renewables, DNO (Distribution Network Operator), HV (High Voltage) Power, and ICP (Independent Connection Provider) markets.
Our newly created business unit works on an exciting range of HV projects renewable energy ICP and EPC projects, transmission & distribution commissioning projects and large-scale railway electrification projects. We are rapidly expanding our team so it's a great time to join the business.
We provide design, installation & commissioning services in support of a variety of EV, PV, ICP, DNO, battery storage and Rail projects. The successful candidate will be an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior QS Looking for their next step. You will be responsible for all commercial matters from tender stage through to contract completion, it is a great opportunity to have full autonomy and responsibility on portfolio projects, the role will have a team reporting into them so previous line management experience would be beneficial or a passion to move into this kind of role considered.
In this role we require a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience of dealing with NEC contracts (among bespoke contracts), Earned value and generating profit margin from projects and increasing turnover. Some renewables, grid connections or EV Charging projects experience would be of benefit but not essential.
This is a permanent role and can be based out of our London office + remote/hybrid working is possible alongside travel to projects and offices around the UK.

Primary duties include optimisation of margin on projects and protecting/mitigation of commercial risk, appointment and management of sub-contractors, client negotiation and management. You will support the project team as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Technical Proficiency: Can formulate, present and manage high-value contract variations and claims through to client agreement. Ability to negotiate and influence decisions. Can read, interpret and measure construction drawings. Understanding of contract law. Comfortable undertaking complex Excel and Word tasks.
