About the role

 

In this role you will manage a high functioning PMO team to support the Program Director successfully deliver the program. The PMO is responsible to ensure the necessary program governance and controls are in place and operating effectively – This includes making sure that the work, dependencies, budgets, risks, issues and resources are planned, agreed and actively managed with transparent and insightful reporting provided within the program and to the Executive steering committee. This is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract opportunity.

 

What you will be doing

  • Ensure delivery and management of the program is supported with robust and effective controls
  • Embed an operating rhythm across the program for review and update of key controls and artifacts
  • Actively challenge the delivery Program and Project Managers to ensure that planning and risk management is robust, and reporting is transparent and insightful
  • Own quality assurance within the PMO to ensure standards in project delivery
  • Ownership of the Portfolio financial and reporting EOM activity
  • Manage the cross-program resource process and in conjunction with the EPMO.
  • Manage the program change management process and assess impacts of change against the integrated plans and budget
  • Actively manage the integrated delivery plan and associated internal and external dependencies
  • Ensure quality through the ownership of the program test strategy and plan and its adoptions across the delivery teams
  • Manage common technical environments and release activities across the program
  • Ongoing review and evaluation of project outcomes and where appropriate, is the escalation point for issue resolution
  • Identify and implement ongoing improvements to delivery to lower cost and risk

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or similar analytical discipline
  • Preference for qualifications in Project Management such as PMP/Agile or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience managing PMO function or leading in large complex programs utilising a range of delivery approaches
  • Experience in program planning, reporting, and delivery; ensuring that projects are delivered as planned and to an appropriate quality standard
  • Demonstrated experience managing risk and budgets
  • Experience in contracting and managing vendors to deliver contractual outcomes
  • Preferred knowledge of energy markets (preference of the WEM) and a solid understanding of the political and regulatory framework in the Australian energy industry
