Job Description:
As a General Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all on-site activities for the multi-family project. Your expertise in both hands-on tools and supervisory experience will be crucial in ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of all construction workers and subcontractors on site.
- Ensure compliance with all project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
On-Tools Expertise:
- Perform hands-on construction tasks as needed, demonstrating best practices and high standards of workmanship.
- Provide guidance and training to team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for the project.
Safety Management:
- Enforce all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and meetings, addressing any potential hazards or issues promptly.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including incident reports and safety logs.
Project Coordination:
- Monitor and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or changes in project scope.
- Ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment are available and in good condition for the project.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout the construction process, conducting regular inspections and quality checks.
- Address any defects or issues promptly, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds client expectations.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a General Foreman role, with a strong background in multi-family residential projects.
- Proven hands-on experience in various construction trades, including carpentry, concrete, framing, and finishing.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Certifications:
- Valid safety tickets, including Occupational First Aid, WHMIS, and any other relevant safety certifications.
- Additional certifications in construction management or related fields are an asset.
