Shifts/Hours:

​

Around 18-20 hours a week throughout the year – optional extra hours may be available during school holidays.

Monday & Tuesday: 4:00 - 8:00 pm (4 hours per day)

​

Wednesday:  3:00 - 7:00 pm (4 hours per day)

​

Saturdays: 1:00 – 7:00 pm  (6 hours per day)

Pay:

​

Week days:  £14 per hour

​

Weekends/Bank Holidays:   £16 per hour

​

The Role:

​

We are looking for a Support Worker in a permanent role for our client who is a 7-year old quadruple amputee.

​

Our client is fun-loving and energetic girl who is bright, determined, cheeky and has a great sense of humour.  She lives with her family and takes part in a wide variety of activities.  She needs a Support Worker to enable her to attend activities such as her drama club and hippotherapy, to take her out to the park and to play with her at home indoors and in her specially adapted garden.

About You:

​

You will be a reliable, patient, energetic and happy person with a fun-loving personality who has a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a child with additional needs and supporting her whilst helping to develop her skills and independence.   You will need to follow our client’s care and support plans and help to implement her therapy programme and you will be a part of the wider multi-disciplinary team that supports her.

Someone who has worked with children with physical disabilities is ideal but more important is your attitude and aptitude for the job as full training will be carried out, including from the various therapists who work with our client (e.g. Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist). 

Our client has different sets of prosthetics according to the activities in which she is involved at a particular time and you receive full training in prosthetic management.

Personal care is required and you must be a driver as you will drive our client’s adapted, manual vehicle.

An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement, criminal convictions may not necessarily prevent employment.
