- Support the Demo Services Manager (DSM) in ensuring the WDS operation in the warehouse under their control meets the required standard
- Ensure the smooth and effective running of the demonstration programme in your warehouse
- In line with company policies/HR procedures and employment laws, help the DSM to build and develop a reliable and skilled demonstration team
- Assisting DSM with disciplinary and grievance issues involving warehouse staff
- Assist DSM in management of costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the warehouse demonstration activities
- Assist in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations
- Maintain a high standard of personal performance
Key Tasks & Responsibilities : Detail
- Support the Demo Services Manager (DSM) in ensuring the WDS operation in the warehouse under their control meets the required standard by
- ensuring that new or existing company procedures and policies (as outlined in the DSM Handbook and Procedures Manual) are adhered to
- ensuring that all Health & Safety rules (including Food Safety policy) are enforced and reports filed/records maintained as appropriate
- taking all action requested via H.O. Bulletin/Emails within timescales requested
- following up on Head Office feedback (e.g. audits, demo sales vs previous weeks’ sales etc) ensuring that all problems/issues highlighted are addressed and resolved
- reporting to DSM and/or Regional Manager on any serious problems/issues which may arise
- liaising with Costco warehouse management and attending meetings as required
- Ensure the smooth and effective running of the demonstration programme in your warehouse by
- working the equivalent of four days per week including alternate weekends
- being responsible for running the WDS operation in the warehouse in the absence of the DSM
- ensuring all demonstrations are set up properly and started on time
- monitoring all demonstrations and ensuring prompt resolution of any problems/issues encountered
- Covering demos as required. For breaks etc.
- In line with company policies/HR procedures and employment laws, help the DSM to build and develop a reliable and skilled demonstration team by
- mentoring, managing and developing the demonstration team as required
- assisting with recruitment, interviewing and training of new demonstration staff
- closely monitoring the performance of all new demonstrators during their 90 day trial period
- monitoring/reviewing staff performance and providing feedback to DSM on people who are failing to meet standard required e.g. in selling and customer service skills
- identifying areas of training required for demonstration staff and, in liaison with DSM, ensuring this training is carried out
- Assisting DSM with disciplinary and grievance issues involving warehouse staff by
- dealing with any disciplinary issues which arise in the absence of the DSM, liaising with Regional Manager on actions taken
- ensuring all action is taken as per the Company Disciplinary & Grievance procedure and assisting with investigations as required
- note taking at meetings and, in absence of DSM, conducting disciplinary and grievance meetings as required in liaison with Regional Manager
- Assist DSM in management of costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the warehouse demonstration activities by
- implementing effective stock control on equipment, disposables etc. and ordering replacement stock only as required
- ensuring all staff are trained on the proper use of equipment and that it is maintained/stored properly in order to minimise damage
- minimising money drains
- Assisting with warehouse administration as required, at the same time complying with the Data Protection Policy, including
- preparing demonstrator contracts and filing signed acknowledge forms
- checking and signing of Demo Report Forms and emailing them to Head Office daily
- printing daily price signs
- purchase of demo stock
- emailing to HO registration details of new starters including evidence of eligibility
- maintaining personnel files ensuring they contain all required documentation
- Assist in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations by
- recommending any improvements to warehouse procedures which you feel would benefit the company
- attending meetings and contributing to company strategy and policy making as required
- attending training as required
- ensuring all Head Office queries are dealt with promptly
- assisting in new warehouse openings as required
- Maintain a high standard of personal performance by
- complying with all company policies/procedures/guidelines
- working reasonable overtime as required in order to meet deadlines
- carrying out any additional tasks as from time to time may be identified by Line Manager
