Assistant Store Manager - Washington DC/Georgetown (Full Time) at Fresh Baguette

Fresh Baguette, a local artisanal bakery has become the go-to place for those seeking the authentic atmosphere of a typical French bakery. The bakery has achieved steady and rapid growth thanks to its artisanship and high-quality standards. 

Fresh Baguette is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its Georgetown store located on Wisconsin Ave. The main role is customer service oriented, and team/shift management to ensure customers are always warmly welcomed and served in a clean and inviting environment from 7 AM to 6 PM every day of the week. Assistant Store Manager works either morning shifts between 6 AM and 1:00 PM or afternoon shifts between 1:00 PM and 7 PM. Flexibility is mandatory.

AS AN ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Serving baked goods, breads, and pastries, 
• Making and serving coffee, sandwiches, salads, 
• Providing friendly and prompt customer service, running a cash register 
• Maintaining store safety, sanitation and proper food storage 
• Addressing and answering customer complaints 
• Paying close attention to the way products are displayed all over the day and to the cleanliness of the store 
• Training the team about daily operation and specific subjects such as food safety or customer service
• Assisting the store manager with hiring, scheduling work hours and shifts
• Leading a staff team of 5-10 people to keep them highly motivated and focused
• Participating to develop a pleasant work environment and share the cultural values of the company as well as supporting continuously a harassment and discrimination-free environment for all employees 
   

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Adhere to Fresh Baguette’s core values: Integrity, Respect, Committed, Reliable, Team Players and Customer Oriented 
• Proven work experience in a similar role e.g. experience as a shift leader/supervisor
• Must be able to have reliable transportation for store opening duties at 5:00 AM
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Experience working at a cafe or bakery will be a plus
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to work with computers and technology efficiently
• Excellent problem-solving skills. Availability to resolve issues whenever they happen.
