Are you a qualified gas engineer with a sense of humour?
Due to our continued growth in 2022, we now need a qualified gas breakdown and service engineer to join our family run business.
The primary responsibilities of being a Gas Engineer at Gas-Tech are:
- Install and maintain gas appliances: You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of gas appliances in residential properties. This includes boilers, water heaters, fires, cookers, and other appliances that use gas.
- Inspect gas systems: You will be required to carry out regular inspections of gas systems to ensure that they are safe and functioning correctly. This involves checking the gas supply, pipework, and appliances for leaks, damage, or wear and tear.
- Repair gas appliances: When gas appliances break down or malfunction, you’ll be responsible for identifying and fixing the problem. This may involve replacing parts, cleaning components, or carrying out more extensive repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations: Gas Engineers must comply with strict safety regulations and codes of practice to ensure that gas appliances are installed and maintained safely. This involves following specific guidelines and carrying out regular safety checks.
- Keep records: You are required to keep accurate records of all work carried out on gas appliances, including installation, maintenance, and repairs. This helps to ensure that appliances are properly maintained and serviced over time.
Gas-Tech Heating Services (Banbury) Ltd is a family run business based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, which was established in 1999. We provide fast, expert domestic gas, oil fired and renewable energy servicing maintenance and installation in Banbury, Bicester, Witney, Kidlington, Brackley and surrounding villages. We also carry out contract work for several local authorities, large private estates and large facility companies which can be anywhere in the UK.
- Qualifications: You MUST have a Gas Safe Register qualification, which certifies that they are trained and competent to work safely with gas appliances and pipework.
- Technical skills: All Gas Engineers must have a strong technical knowledge of gas appliances, heating systems, and pipework. They should be able to diagnose and repair faults, install new appliances, and carry out regular maintenance checks.
- Attention to detail: Have a keen eye for detail, as you are responsible for ensuring that gas appliances are installed and maintained safely and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Communication skills: You should have excellent communication skills, as you’ll often work with customers to diagnose and fix problems, provide advice and guidance, and ensure that gas appliances are used safely and efficiently.
- Problem-solving skills: Must be able to think critically and solve problems quickly and effectively. You will need to be able to identify and diagnose faults in gas appliances, systems and come up with appropriate solutions.
- Time management: Be able to manage your time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure that they meet deadlines and complete work efficiently.
- Driving license: A valid driving license is required.
