Gillfor Distribution has an opening for Seasonal Material Handler/Forklift Operators at our London location. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our London Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Yard Supervisor. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling customer orders and some loading of customer trucks. This is a seasonal position.
Expectations:
- Depending on direct experience - Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner
- Assist in loading orders onto customer trucks
- Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks
- Assist in keeping a tidy and organized lumber yard
- Compliance to all work safety rules and regulations
- Politeness to customers and truck drivers who are picking up or dropping off orders
Ideal Attributes:
- High School Diploma
- Forklift experience an asset
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary
- Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset
- Able to work in outdoor conditions
- Flexibility with start and finish times
- Reliable and punctual
- Self-Motivated and able to work without supervision
