Gillfor Distribution is seeking a Product Manager in Building Materials to join their team.

The Product Manager acts as the Gillfor ambassador for a specific product category, and is responsible for all aspects of marketing and managing the product in order to drive sales and margin growth to meet the company’s objectives. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing vendor and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with other managers, to deliver winning product programs. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager recognizes the importance of customer, vendor, and other employee relationships and how they will contribute to both their personal growth as well as the growth of Gillfor Distribution.

Performance Requirements
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of specific category assigned and be the Gillfor ambassador for that product category internally and externally.
- Work with Vendor Partners, Divisional Managers, and Account Managers to develop business growth and opportunities.
- Define the product strategy, budget and roadmap.
- Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product.
- Review and adapt to information regarding new product innovations, competitors and changing market conditions.
- Meet with Division Managers regularly to review targets and progress.
- Develop strong vendor relationships (visit mills and attend conferences as needed) and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, transportation agreements and growth driving initiatives.
- Ensure that Gillfor Distribution is positioned to excel in this product category through company-wide product and sales training and engagement with sales teams across Canada.
- All other duties as assigned.
Standards of performance
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Experience in product management or marketing is required

Working Conditions
- Gross base salary range to start $80,000 - $110,000
- Discretionary bonus
